4 Tips for Offering Your Employee’s Company Cars

If you are running a successful business, you may have already considered the idea of offering your employee’s company cars. This is a great way to send the message that your entrepreneurial endeavour has truly found its feet in the business world. Company cars can be a huge incentive to potential, and current, employees. If you take the correct approach, company cars could do great things for your business. However, it is vital that you are prepared for the responsibilities involved. Below are four tips for offering your employee’s company cars.

Make Sure that you Invest in Quality

The concept of offering company cars will be extremely ineffective if you decide to cut corners. Don’t insult, or endanger, your employees by giving them vehicles that are run down. Make sure that you are investing in quality. To be certain that you are making the correct purchase, visit Lexus Edinburgh. They will help you to secure the best deal available. You can also talk to their expert advisors about which make and model best suits your company’s specific needs.

Use the Car as an Incentive

Why not use your company cars as an incentive for current, and future, employees? If you are not able to increase the annual wage of one of your workers, offering them a company car is a great way to consolidate the cost into a one off payment. If you can’t afford to pay the price of an entire car, you could instead offer a contribution. This is a fantastic way to show that you are sensitive to the demands of a commute, or the financial demands of running a vehicle. Company cars help to inspire loyalty amongst your staff. If they are only made available at a certain level, they are also a great incentive to work towards promotion.

Encourage Safety on the Road

Why not arrange a black box insurance policy for your company cars? This type of insurance policy rewards careful drivers and penalises reckless behaviour. This is a clever way for you to ensure that your employees are driving responsibly. You could also run courses that refresh your worker’s knowledge in relation to the Highway Code, or host guest speakers that talk about the consequences of dangerous driving. It is also vital that you emphasize the importance of your company cars. Make sure that your employees understand that they are a symbol of your trust and respect. This will make them more likely to take care of their vehicles.

Remember to have the Cars Checked Regularly

When you offer your employees a company car, you become partly responsible for their safety. That is why you need to make sure that the vehicle they are driving is safe for the road. Schedule regular, preventative maintenance in order to identify, and fix, any problems. You should also update your company vehicles on a regular basis in order to maintain a certain level of quality. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
